Mondo Disease Ontology: harmonizing disease concepts around the world

We will present our work on the Mondo Disease Ontology during the poster session at the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative Symposium. The Mondo ontology is a structured representation of cross-species diseases, and provides a logic-based structure for unifying multiple disease resources, which can be used for annotation and computational integration of disease data.

The poster and abstract are shared at the link below.

How will your idea make a difference

Mondo is used to structure disease descriptions in a number of resources, such as ClinGen, the Monarch Initiative, and the Gabriella Miller Kids First Data Resource, which is a curated database of clinical and genetic sequence data from pediatric patients with structural abnormalities or childhood cancers. We hope that Mondo can be used by other resources to structure data and allow for new computational analyses and discoveries.
